Keringet Foods Limited (KFL) is a medium-size dairy processing company located in Kuresoi South sub-county, Nakuru County within the Republic of Kenya. The company was incorporated in September 2014 as the commercial arm of Keringet Community Social Economic and Environmental Development Foundation (KCSEED) through the generous support and funding by Gorta, an international development organization headquartered in Ireland. Other development partners who have supported KFL in its quest for social and economic empowerment of small-scale dairy farmers include Self Help Africa and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). The company serves as the vehicle through which these farmers use for value addition of their agricultural produce. KFL is registered as a public limited company. Shareholding in the company is open to the dairy farmers of Keringet location and the surrounding areas.
Corporate Governance
The company has a nine (9) member board of directors with good gender and youth representation. The board is charged with charting the strategic direction of the company, policy formulation and supervision of the management team that oversees the day to day operations of the company as well as implementing board decisions. Currently the company’s revenue streams include:
Fermented products (yoghurts in different flavours)
Fermented milk(locally known as mursik)
Pasteurized milk
Raw chilled milk.
